Almost Famous

Last friday (April 4, 2008), IP Philippines launched a new exhibit at the Alab Art Space entitled “A World of Pun”. It featured the works of three students from Asia Pacific College. Jerold Manalili, Cris Dumlao and John Ryo Manaluz shared their creative minds with their works.

The exhibit was designed by a multi-awarded filmaker/curator Elvert dela Cruz-Bañarez. The event was graced by three National Artist namely: Mr. Virgilio Almario (National Artist for Literature), Professor Napoleon Abueva (National Artist for Visual Arts), Dr. Abdulmari Imao (National Artist for Visual Arts).

It was the first event that I headed since Trina left IP Philippines. All I can say is…. Dami nag cover na media. The highlight was….. I had my picture taken with the National Artists… hahahahaha

Perks of working for IP Philippines

I just upgraded my wordpress installation to version 2.5. A lot of improvements have been made. Mas relaxing ata tong bago nilang admin section.

Anyway, I am still getting a hang over this new version. I hope it works out for me. As for the theme, I think its now time to make a new one. I am just using a theme included with the install.

I recently had a chance DRIP perform live at Saguijo Bar in Makati. Damn they rock. Their music is very enchanting and seductive. The band, composed of Beng Calma-Alcazaren on Vocals, Malek Lopez on live keyboards, sound design & programming, Caliph8 on Turntables & FX and Ian “Morse” Magbanua on beats, samples & programming jives to make a dark sultry electronic music. Plus I find Beng hot.. hahahahaha

Now I have to get a copy of their album “Identity Theft” of which two tracks are under a creative common licence. It means that anyone can mix, experiment and distribute their music without the fear of being sued.

They were introduced to me after their set and they are one cool group. I will definitely check them out soon! Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my camera. I had to borrow Kat’s digital P&S camera.
