The exhibit was designed by a multi-awarded filmaker/curator Elvert dela Cruz-Bañarez. The event was graced by three National Artist namely: Mr. Virgilio Almario (National Artist for Literature), Professor Napoleon Abueva (National Artist for Visual Arts), Dr. Abdulmari Imao (National Artist for Visual Arts).

It was the first event that I headed since Trina left IP Philippines. All I can say is…. Dami nag cover na media. The highlight was….. I had my picture taken with the National Artists… hahahahaha

Perks of working for IP Philippines

Anyway, I am still getting a hang over this new version. I hope it works out for me. As for the theme, I think its now time to make a new one. I am just using a theme included with the install.

Now I have to get a copy of their album “Identity Theft” of which two tracks are under a creative common licence. It means that anyone can mix, experiment and distribute their music without the fear of being sued.

They were introduced to me after their set and they are one cool group. I will definitely check them out soon! Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my camera. I had to borrow Kat’s digital P&S camera.

I learned a lot from the workshop and from the yoc session with other bureau directors. I am glad I joined the workshop. I heard stuff that were not taught at school.

We shared our expertise and knowledge with each other towards creating a rock solid two year strat plan for the training and research institute of IP Philippines.

Now we have to this to the Public Relations Office of IP Phil. Ang galing eh! Basta astig!

I’ll be going out of town sa weekend kaya ma tetest drive ko to. May 11 films ako… bumili ako 10 rolls na Lucky 200 colored tapos meron free na isang roll… woot!

Its entirely different with being an Engineer. Hahahaha. Well I am enjoying this new field that I am in.

This week I had a lot and I mean a “LOT” of meetings. I had meetings with different Bureaus and some potential exhibitors for our art space (Alab Art Space). This will be my first big event in this post. We are planning to mount an exhibit of art students about beginning their journey as a visual artists both in digital and traditional form.

I will be slowly moving away from designing (WAHHHHHHHH)… More into art direction, management, planning, and a lot of PAPER WORKS.

This will be exciting…

It sad that she is leaving us but I really admire her guts for following her dream.

Now will be heading Events/New Media - Website for Public Relations Office of IP Philippines. In short I was somehow promoted. Yep nakaka kaba kasi 4 months pa lang ako sa work and I had no prior experience on this field of work. hahaha… Am an Engineer for God’s sake. Well all I hold into is I had good training from her and Betty. I have a very talented team. Betty also promised me that she will guide me along the way. She will be teaching me everything she knows (Ayus parang starwars).

So more work. A lot to learn. I have to read books about Marketing, Public Relations, Management. Hahaha nerd.. Masaya to. Definitely a new journey for me.

Well I feel elated that our Director General and my superiors trusts me that much.

All I can say is that I am very greatful with everything that is happening with me right now. I guess leaving Sykes is the best thing that happened to me.

Weekend at the mall
Had a meeting last sunday at Robinsons Galleria. After that, I went to Metrowalk to meet my ex-officemates… Yep she was there.. Catched up on things and happenings with our lives and work. It was a bit awkward at first. Didn’t know how to start or end the conversation but I guess we were able to face each other. I guess we always had good conversations with each other so it was not really that hard.

Boobear
Its Ada’s birthday on friday and I will be seeing my boobear on saturday at Linden Suites. She is turning 4 (ambilis noh!) She is really growing up to be a witty girl… I will see you on saturday baby…

Raine
Saw her a while ago at her workplace… imagine, that girl working at Coffee Bean? That rich, bratty girl working? Hahaha… a lot has happened to her. I don’t pity her though, all I can say is that she is doing pretty well and now she knows the true value of money. She even brags to me that she knows how to wash the dishes, ride the jeep and wash her clothes (manual hand wash ha)… just hold on kid… everything will be alright.

Resign
Nope… am not resigning yet…. one of my officemate gave up her post as the Program Manager. Gulp now she will be turning over her current task to me and Chiqui… hahaha well new things to learn… papayat kaya ko?

Then came Project Holgra 10*12. It involves at the best 10 frames that my Holga 120N would spit out a month for a whole year. I guess that is much easier. Subject? Anything under the sun, experiences, self portrait, events, street photography, Pornography (nahhhh)…
